Sarah Palin refuses funds for the mentally handicapped is this for political points?

Posted by admin on June 27th, 2010 and filed under sarah palin | 15 Comments »

Sarah Palin the ex-beauty pageant contestant and losing VP candidate has turned down Stimulus Funds for her State. This included 20 million for the handicapped and disabled special needs kids. Maybe she can afford her Downs syndrome baby but there are thousands of others who cannot and need this money. Is scoring political points more important then the handicapped children of Alaska?

The only Republican Governors that refused some of the stimulus money are ones that have political ambitions at the national level.

They do not serve their state by doing this. Just their own ambition.

Who will win the governer and liuetenant governer of New Jersey?

I say Jon Corzine again. What do you think?

I actually live in NJ. I talk to a lot of people in the course of my life and work. It’s Christie by a margin of at least 100 to 1. Corzine is universally hated outside of Liberal strongholds like the inner cities. The polls are taken by Liberal organizations and should not be believed. Case in point: Neither I or anyone I know has been polled but the other day the phone rang at my fiancee’s house. It was Quinnipiac University taking a poll about the election. My fiancee is a registered Democrat. Go figure. BTW, my fiancee is voting for Christie despite her party affiliation.

if Sarah palin is not qualified to be Vp because Alaska is a small state? How was she qualifed to be govenor?

She was mayor of a small town with 5000-9000 people. Alaska has a whole has 65 times that many people
that’s 65 times the people Alaska has.
that’s 65 times the people Alaska has.

I have no idea why people say that…

bill clinton was the governer of Arkansas. ..

thats like being the governer of nothing.

How much of your work day is taken up by office politics?

Posted by admin on June 27th, 2010 and filed under politics | 1 Comment »

Just making up a small informal poll here.I would like a quantatative estimate (% of time) is taken up by office politics and power struggles, including work that exists solely because of such politics.
1) Where are you located, geographically?
2) Do you work for the public or private sector?

It depends on the people you’re surrounded by and what kind of manager you have. Generally, most offices, I find are filled with backstabbers and @ss kissers. I have problems because I refuse to do either, its an office, its not a sandbox and you’re not in Kindergarten.

How can the Republican party attract more young voters?

Posted by admin on June 27th, 2010 and filed under republican | 40 Comments »

The majority of young and uniformed voters vote for Democrats. Democrats make a lot of promises that sound great to younger voters, such as nationalized health care, not partaking in necessary wars, etc. Younger voters are not aware of the negative aspects to all of the Democratic politicians promises.

How can the Republican party draw in more young voters? How can the conservative agenda be made more appealing to young voters?

Today, the republican party does attract the "older/white" demographic, but it’s been like that for a while now, due to the changing opinion of the public on several social issues. I think that true conservatism is "dead".

I think serious reform to what the republican party stands for would attract younger voters – but at the same time, that would just make them into another democratic party.

How democratic was the USA and Germany compared to Britain in 1918?

I’m doing an extended essay for history titled ‘How democratic was Britain by 1918′ and i would like to do a comparison paragraph but i can’t find any information. Any help?

Britain is the oldest modern democracy. In 1918 the USA had been a democracy for over 140 years whereas Germany was still ruled by the Kaiser.

What happened in the Kenyan Election to cause such violence?

Posted by admin on June 27th, 2010 and filed under election | 3 Comments »

I know there was some sort of election fraud, but that’s happened in other countries before, and never caused violence like this that I’ve ever seen — or at least heard of. Any reasonable answer on this would be appreciated.

There was huge election rigging, and yes, that’s happened before, even here, very recently, but I think what makes Kenya so different and so violent is the fact that the whole country is divided, not only by candidate, but by tribe, and that’s a very foreign concept to us. Similar to different sects of the same relegion always wanting to kill each other. Another aspect is that this election had Kenya’s highest voter turn out. It was one that people were passionate about.
