What does Clinton have to do/win to be the democratic candidate?

Posted by admin on July 14th, 2010 and filed under democratic | 10 Comments »

I don’t know how the elections are based, but I was wondering if and when we will know who the democratic candidate is? Also how do they decide who it is? What does Clinton have to do to be the democratic candidate?

Since neither Democratic candidate will have the required delegates to win the nomination (counting FL & MI or not), the super delegates will make the decision at the convention. Therefore, the vote of the general public will not come in to play. The Super’s will elect which ever candidate they deem is best for the Democratic party.

Therefore to win, Hillary will need to convince the Super Delegates that she is the best candidate to nominate.

This candid interview with photographer William Eggleston was conducted by film director Michael Almereyda on the occasion of the opening of Eggleston’s retrospective William Eggleston: Democratic Camera, Photographs and Video, 1961-2008 at the Whitney Museum of American Art. A key figure in American photography, Eggleston is credited almost single-handedly with ushering in the era of color photography. Eggleston discusses his shift from black and white to color photography in this video as, “it never was a conscious thing. I had wanted to see a lot of things in color because the world is in color”. Also included in this video are Eggleston’s remarks about his personal relationships with the subjects of many of his photographs.

Michael Almereyda is director of the film William Eggleston and the Real World (2005).

Why did the South switch from being Democratic to Republican during the Civil Rights Era?

Posted by admin on July 10th, 2010 and filed under democratic | 15 Comments »

Did it have anything to do with Democratic presidents proposing civil rights legislation for blacks and the Republican opposition to integration and other civil rights measures?

If not, then what did cause the switch?

Just wondering. Thanks!

Exactly! President Johnson himself told then Chief Justice Earl Warren this: "we democrats have lost the South forever", after signing the 1964 civil rights law. Something conservative republicans don’t have a damn guts to admit. They are cowards.

What is the difference between totalitarian and democratic government in Austrlia?

Posted by admin on July 2nd, 2010 and filed under democratic | 2 Comments »

I have a question and its hard to find answers for .. What are the Actual differences between Totalitarian and Democratic government in Australia??

In a totalitarian government, there is one party rule, one government, no elections, no submitting and conforming politicians ambitions to try to win public favour, no fair trials, no appeals when there is miscarriage of justice, no dissent, no free speach, no personal rights or liberties, and things like religion and philosophy are considered threat to the government’s absolute control, and everyone has to suck up to the government, believe every bit of propaganda and false information they feed to the public.

I imagine Australia has much better conditions than that, personal freedoms, government officials trying to please the public or else they won’t get elected to power, freedom of speech and opinion, etc…
