I know there was some sort of election fraud, but that’s happened in other countries before, and never caused violence like this that I’ve ever seen — or at least heard of. Any reasonable answer on this would be appreciated.
There was huge election rigging, and yes, that’s happened before, even here, very recently, but I think what makes Kenya so different and so violent is the fact that the whole country is divided, not only by candidate, but by tribe, and that’s a very foreign concept to us. Similar to different sects of the same relegion always wanting to kill each other. Another aspect is that this election had Kenya’s highest voter turn out. It was one that people were passionate about.
What happened in the Kenyan Election to cause such violence?
Poles gear up for elections
Poland’s preparing for an election on Sunday to replace its former president, Lech Kaczynski , who was killed when his plane crashed in western Russia on April 10.
Many of the country’s political elite died in the accident, but one of the people hoping to take over is a very familiar face, Jaroslaw , the twin brother of the late president.
Al Jazeera’s Nazanine Moshiri reports.

How to follow live presidential election broadcasts in Europe?
Do you know if some television companies are going to have live election broadcastes in the internet? Because the results will come in the middle of the night in here and therefore the first live tv broadcastes are in the morning. I would appriciate a direct link if you have one.
C-Span.org and CNN should have live feeds.
From The Programmer’s Mouth: How The 2000 Election Was Fixed
Clinton E. Curtis, ex-programmer tells all during a Congressional hearing on voting fraud. In October 2000, Curtis was asked by Tom Feeney (R), then Speaker of the House in Florida, to write a computer program that would render electronic voting fraud undetectable. Curtis did just that.

What is a general election? What other types of elections are held in the United States?
What is a general election? What other types of elections are held in the United States?
General elections are held every two years in November. They are intended for electing members of the House, Senate, and the President as well as a plethora of state and local officials.
There are also primary elections held before the general elections. These are held primarily to determine the candidates for a political party. In case on non-partisan elections, primaries usually serve to choose the top candidates for the general election.
There are special elections to fill vacancies. For example, if an election official should die, resign, or be removed from office, a special election to fill that position is usually held.
What was the presidential election where the frontrunner lost due to voters not showing up to vote?
One candidate was very far ahead of the other, but on election day the weather was bad so people did not bother to show up to vote because they knew he was going to win. But because they didn’t show up, the other candidate ended up winning.
Sounds a bit like Hillary Clinton in Wisconsin Primary. Weather likely increased her margin of loss. General Election…
I found this obscure quote in the internet:
"1 inch of rain reduces overall turnout by slightly less than 1 percent and cuts the Democratic vote by 2.5 percentage points."
Looks…weird, at best. Mostly because Republicans had to turn out at a HIGHER rate as usual to get those numbers.
But still, your question… hm.
Kennedy-Nixon? Would be the one that comes to my mind, but that is not a fact, but just a pretty weird theory. You know- Correlation is not Causation. We´re looking at 12 elections or so from that we have county-by-county results and weather data. That´s not even close to being enough for a good hypothesis or regression.
