He should win based on that alone.
If we get rid of the illegals in CA then we save the state and the budget will be fine.
Poizner was eliminated in the primaries. The Republican candidate for gov. of California will be Meg Whitman.
As for laws against illegals here in CA, we’ve passed them in the past and they were found unconstitutional, as I believe the AZ law will be. Years ago we had a ballot initiative making it illegal for undocumented immigrants to use hospital emergency rooms, schools couldn’t educate their kids, etc. etc. It passed but it was overturned by the courts.
(And besides, study after study shows that illegals contribute more to the state’s economy than they cost. Why would conservative politicians continue to ignore these facts if not for them just wanting to instigate, encourage and exploit intolerance?)

He could not make a law as governor; that’s from the legislature, hence the name.
However, he’s out of the running.

He already lost the primary. Meg Whitman will be the GOP candidate. He did not have $80 million to spend on slick TV ads. That is what makes people decide who to vote for.
