do cars have governers someone told me only motorcycles have them?

yes most cars do have them. They are bases on the speed ratings of the tires equipped on the car from the factory if the car comes with z rated tires it will go faster than one with p rated.

    Almost all modern cars are controlled by an onboard computer which has a top speed programmed into it. Exceed that speed and the fuel injectors are turned off. This is to ensure the car does not travel fast enough to exceed the speed rating of the tires specified for it and cause a blowout and accident.
