    Barbara Boxer is so stupid, she doesn’t even understand that what she’s doing is blatantly racist.

    @itisaduck and at …
    @itisaduck and at first never tried to convert them but rather just exterminate them. They had a racial policy now known as “Scientific Racism” which was that they were inferior due to their race. They didn’t intermarry as it was considered taboo. The Spanish on the other hand intermarried with the natives and created an entire new mixed people called “mestizos” and before you get all bent out of shape, I know that in some cases indigenous women were raped by Spanish men.

  8. jossman25 Says:

    @itisaduck For that …
    @itisaduck For that matter I never made any judgements or gave any personal opinions on the conquest. The Spanish were indeed cruel in their treatment of the indigenous people in many circumstances. Where they any more cruel than other Europeans who butchered and/or enslaved the aboriginal peoples of the world? probably not. At the very least, the Spanish treated them like humans and wanted to save their souls. The English settlers in the other hand thought the native peoples to be savages.

  9. jossman25 Says:

    @itisaduck No, I …
    @itisaduck No, I complained because your claim that Major Levi Chase “FOUNDED” San Diego in NOT factually accurate. I simply pointed that out to you and you went on this tangent about me being a racist and threw a bunch of red herrings out there. I never said or implied that the Indigenous people were as YOU say “animals” or that they didn’t have a thriving society before the Spanish arrived. I simply corrected your assertion that Maj. Chase “founded” SD.

  10. itisaduck Says:

    @jossman25, My …
    @jossman25, My point is you complain because I stated what the local history books say. Then you do the same thing. Are the indigenious PEOPLE animals or are they people that had community and villages made of local material?. Did they have a thriving economy and a acorn and fish based diet, until driven inland by the vicious and cruel Spanards? I stated that my family were early founders of the US period which is NOW, according to the San Diego Historic Society.

  11. jossman25 Says:

    @itisaduck i won’t …
    @itisaduck i won’t even go into the fact that adobe could be made with existing materials in the area without the advent of modern transportation. That part of California is a desert and has very few trees for lumber. Adobe is perfect because its easy and quick to make but also because it was suited to its environment. It kept homes cool in the summer and insulated in the winter. Something the later wood constructions could not do. Is that what you call advanced?

  12. jossman25 Says:

    @itisaduck Why ” …
    @itisaduck Why “Screw Spain and language”? Just because you don’t like the history doesn’t mean that you can try to revise it. Notice I never said “Advanced” Architecture but I can play that game too. While an adobe building is somewhat primitive by later standards, it was certainly more advanced than the twig and animal hide structures that the indigenous people had before.

  13. jossman25 Says:

    @itisaduck WTF is a …
    @itisaduck WTF is a Neo-communist? Is that like one of those made up on the spot terms that Mitt Romney used. “Neo-Liberal-Monarchists” WTF? You right wingers are always trying to revise history, scapegoat someone else for the problem in society and can never hold yourselves accountable for anything. If you were to admit that both parties contributed to the current mess then I could believe you were sincere.

  14. jossman25 Says:

    @itisaduck You’re …
    @itisaduck You’re saying that all those Republican governors just went along with the democrats and signed spending programs that they found to be so distasteful? They had no choice right? You know that Republicans are just as corrupt, if not more so, than the Democrats. Keep blaming the teachers unions who work hard to gain better pay and school conditions for people who do one of the most important jobs in society. It’s so easy to scapegoat the “evil unions” rather than look in the mirror.

  15. jossman25 Says:

    @itisaduck Could …
    @itisaduck Could you please address my point about all governors being Republican in the last 30 years except one. If you go back even further, it’s been all Republicans Governors since the 1950’s except three and two of those were named Brown. Pelosi is a House Rep. and has no control over how much is spent at the state level. For that matter so are Feinstein and Boxer, they are Senators who don’t get to decide what California does at the state level.

    HAHAHA! I love it! Somebody has finally called her on her hypocrisy!

  17. itisaduck Says:

    @jossman25, Screw …
    @jossman25, Screw Spain and language. Spain is about to collapse so why does your world start there? If advanced Architecture is the ticket, then adobe huts of Spanards do not qualify. So via your ruler back to Major Levi Chase and the YOU PEOPLE. The Missions and the adobes thru California are holes compared to what he and others built. Albert Robinson, a former slave was brought to San diego by my GGGdad and he and wife built the fine Julian Hotel. So they are YOU PEOPLE?

  18. itisaduck Says:

    @jossman25, …
    @jossman25, California has always been a Democratic state and more recently a Neo-communist state. Pelosi, Boxer, Fienstien. Hello! Arnold has tried to cut back, reduce salaries, lay off workers and the Democratically controlled assembly, the Neo-communist Teachers associations and unions fight him. The people of California need to send the neo-communist far left Democrats packing and vote some fiscal conservatives in from any party available.

  19. jossman25 Says:

    For all of you …
    For all of you right wing F-tards. Yes, California is in a financial ditch, but what you people are leaving out is that this “liberal” state has had all Republican governors except one in the last 30 years. Not to mention that California is still to this day suffering from the destructive legacy of Saint Ronnie Reagan who you guys idolize. Why doesn’t the right follow their own motto of “personal responsibility” when it comes to problems they created or helped create.

  20. jossman25 Says:

    @itisaduck So I’m …
    @itisaduck So I’m racist for calling right wingers “you people” Don’t be silly. The indigenous people who lived in what we now cal SD did not even speak Spanish, did not know about architecture or have any European technology. While I agree that the Spanish came and enslaved and killed a lot of indigenous people, it was they that founded San Diego for the Spanish crown. Where am I wrong? don’t argue just for the sake of arguing.

  21. itisaduck Says:

    @jossman25 , …
    @jossman25 , Actually Major Levi Chase was called the Father of the Cajons as he developed the El Cajon area and he was instrumental in San Diego’s and California early US HISTORY and development. No one is rejecting indigenious history nor our French, Spanish or Mexican history. We do have Old Town, the Pueblo at San Diego and we do have the missions as monuments to the past. You only see streets named for Major Levi Chase.

  22. itisaduck Says:

    @jossman25. @ …
    @jossman25. @jossman25 , Who is “YOU PEOPLE”? Spainish Founding? RACIST PIG! SD was founded by indigenious tribes. Spainish Army came and killed the indians. So Euro racist founding? :) - Of course, we all understand Junipero Serra’s part in San Diego. I am talking American period..as in NOW. When Atzlan is established there will be a new founding? San Diego, that is Saint James in English. He who wins the batle rewrites the history. I am part indigenious, euro, and all American.

  23. jossman25 Says:

    Its so amusing to …
    Its so amusing to hear all you right wingers get all worked up over this. When I hear blacks wrongfully use the race card against right-wingers who criticize Pres. Obama I rightfully call them out on it. You right wingers are the first to scream that “blacks are always using the race card.” Yet here is a perfect example of a black man WRONGFULLY using the race card and all you wing-nuts start cheering. WTF? Bunch of hypocrites!

  24. jossman25 Says:

    @itisaduck “Major …
    @itisaduck “Major Levi Chase..San Diego Founder” So San Diego was “founded” by and anglo American rather than Spanish missionaries during the 18th century? Why do you people love to revise history? Blame everything on the democrats even though we’ve had all Republican governors (except one term for a democrat in the early 2000’s) in the last 30 years.
